About the Winery!

Glacier Peak Winery started the same way as many
small
wineries, a hobby that grew out of control. Beginning in 1998 this
hobby of
making our own wine quickly grew into a bonded winery. Grapes were
carefully
selected from vineyards in Eastern Washington
to make
our high quality wine. After acquiring all the necessary Federal and
State
licenses, we finally released our first vintage of wines.
The desire to make quality wine led to the need to grow quality grapes.
Thus
the establishment of Glacier Peak Vineyard in 2002. We have selected a
site in
the upper Skagit Valley
with a high number of growing degree days and good drainage. In our
vineyard we
are growing Pinot noir, a well known grape of Burgundy
origin; Agria, a red grape of Hungarian origin with a taste of black
cherry and
strawberries; and Siegerrebe, a German grape, which produces a light
white wine
with flavors of grapefruit and apricots.
Glacier
Peak Winery produces some of the finest wines
available from premium Washington State
grapes. We utilize state of the art equipment and time-tested
handcrafting to create our rich, full-bodied wines. At Glacier
Peak
we are committed to excellence, and our quality-over-quantity
philosophy shows in every bottle. We are currently producing less than
1000
cases annually and wouldn't have it any other way. We hope
you
enjoy our wines!
